Hotel degli Orafi - Firenze (FI)
An ancient Florentine residence in the heart of the city, on the Lungarno Archibusieri facing the Ponte Vecchio, alongside the Uffizi Gallery.
The property dates back to the 13th century, when it was built as an Augustine convent and retreat.
Inside are remains of an ancient medieval tower, destroyed by the Ghibellini in 1260 and now partially restored, with original period frescoes decorating the modern library.
The 42 rooms divided in standard, executive and deluxe rooms have all been carefully restored and all with private facilities: telephone, mini-bar, safety box, satellite TV, air conditioning.
It's possible to book the Room with a View made famous by James Ivory's romantic film, with its stupendous terrace overlooking the Ponte Vecchio and with views to the hills that surround the city.
The breakfast room, where we serve American breakfast, was once a ballroom with 19th century frescoes and a view of the River Arno and Via dei Georgofili.
There's also a panoramic bar with terrace and roof garden, from which there are fine views of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio, where you can use the services of our American bar and enjoy moments of true relaxation.
